Cable companies offer a variety of sports packages that cover the all the major sports. If you are a baseball fan, they have baseball packages that allow you to see any game that you want. The same thing applies with football and baseball.
How much time do you have to watch sports? If you plane on watching not just your favorite teams, but other teams in the chosen sport, you might be better served getting one of the more expensive sports packages. The NFL only plays 16 games a year and most of those games come on the same day. You can only watch so many of those games, so some of the more expensive packages might not be worth it to you.
